Applejack & Peel Soap

Applejack & Peel Soap

This soap’s namesake is also the name of the irresistible fragrance blend of baked apple, orange peel, and spice notes of cinnamon, clove, and nutmeg with just a kiss of vanilla.  The scrubby effect of ground oatmeal, dried orange peel, and spices complements the fragrance to produce a wonderful soap with scrumptious lather.

Very Vanilla Soap

“Quite simply the richest, most buttery vanilla in the entire universe” is how the fragrance in this soap is described.  The smooth, mellow fragrance of vanilla wafts through the air as I am preparing these soaps for the craft shows.  Like virtually all vanilla fragrances for soapmaking, this fragrance oil causes the soap to turn dark brown as it cures.  Aside from the fragrance and dark brown appearance, this soap will produce lovely lather and leave your skin feeling soft and sensuous.

Plain Oatmeal Soap

Plain Oatmeal Soap

Sometimes the best things in life
are just simple things.
You got dirty hands.  This soap cleans them.
It's as simple as that.
The ground oatmeal creates
a scrubby effect when cleaning.
There is no fragrance added.
I can say more about this soap,
but I don't need to.
It gets the job done.

Purely Peppermint Soap

Refreshing.               Tingly.             Invigorating.

Purely Peppermint Soap contains high-quality oils that make a great bar of soap.
It cleans well yet leaves your skin feeling soft and sensuous.
Add to that peppermint essential oil and ground peppermint leaf and you have a soap that leaves you feeling totally revitalized, clean, and refreshed.
This soap will awaken your senses in the morning, stimulate your skin,
and leave you ready to face the day.

Caution!
Avoid use near the eyes or on sensitive skin areas.

Purely Peppermint Soap ingredients:

Palm oil comes from the pulp of the fruit of the oil palm tree.  It produces a hard bar that cleans well and is mild on the skin.

Soybean oil produces a mild, stable lather.

Shea butter, also known as African karite butter, contains a high percentage of components that do not saponify to form soap, thus remaining in their original state within the bars, able to moisturize and nourish the skin.

Olive oil prevents loss of the skin's natural moisture by attracting external moisture to the skin.  It helps keep the skin soft, supple, and younger looking.

Coconut oil complements any blend of fats and oils in soapmaking with its abundant lather and moisturizing properties.  Coconut oil is literally an essential ingredient in any good soapmaking recipe.

Peppermint essential oil is the highly concentrated volatile oil which carries the scent and the beneficial properties of the peppermint plant.

Ground peppermint leaf is added to the soap to contribute to the appearance, color, texture, and feel of the soap on the skin.

Oatmeal Scrub Soap

Boo!
It's been so long since I have posted that it is almost time for Halloween!

Soapy thoughts and ideas are always on my mind, but other things become a priority in the summer time.  Since I last wrote life on the ranch has been busy.  With an abundant hay crop June and July were spent putting up a record number of hay bales.  I enjoyed planting a garden and tending to it all summer long.  In August I rode in my seventh annual week-long bike trip in North Dakota which is an event I look forward to every year.  Trying to squeeze in biking time with haying time is quite a challenge.

In September I managed to make several new batches
of soap for Christmas shows.

It was fun to get back in the soapmaking groove!

I started out with one of my personal favorites, Oatmeal Scrub Soap.

The Oatmeal Scrub Soap ingredient list includes tallow, soybean oil, shea butter, olive oil, milk, coconut oil, ground oatmeal, and fragrance oil.
